A string you can walk around

A real Karplus-Strong plucked string — a noise burst ringing around a damped delay loop tuned to the note, not a shaped oscillator — on eight strings locked to the key you choose, strummed with a drag across them rather than tapped one at a time. A four-slot loop station sits under it, and every note is placed at its own angle around your head. Headphones, and it is a room.

A real string, not a wave shape

Each pluck excites a delay loop tuned to the note's pitch and damped by a filter — the loop itself is the sound, the same principle behind every physically modelled string instrument. The feedback gain is solved from the desired ring time and capped below unity, so it always decays and never runs away.

A chord is four places, not one

Every voice has its own HRTF panner and is placed by pitch at the moment it is struck: low notes to your left, high notes to your right and slightly above.

Loops that cannot land late

Arming a slot does not start recording — the clock does, at the top of the next lap, and it stops exactly one lap later. The capture window is sample-accurate inside an AudioWorklet, so layers tile without an off-by-one.

Strum, don't tap

Eight strings, one ascending row, nine scales and all twelve keys. Drag across them and each one sounds as your finger or pointer crosses it, low to high or back — a strum, not a chord stabbed one pad at a time.

Sing onto a layer

The microphone joins the loop bus with its round-trip latency compensated, so a vocal or an acoustic take lands on the beat rather than a few milliseconds behind it.

Take it to the decks

Bounce the layers to a seamless one-lap WAV and hand it straight to a deck or to the 8D renderer, where the whole loop can ride an orbit of its own.
